Bucket drain valve When the bucket is full of air, the size of the vent hole of the bucket determines the speed of the bucket sinking. If the hole is too large to store steam in the bucket, the bucket will not be able to go up, or the valve will not be closed tightly and air will leak. The bucket type drain valve is smaller and lighter than the floating bucket type drain valve, which is convenient for installation. In principle, the water can be drained continuously, and the displacement is not limited by the volume of the bucket. The disadvantage is that the closing part and valve seat are easy to wear.

Floating ball drain valve

When the condensate enters and fills the valve, the floating ball floats and is connected with the lever and valve disc; when the floating ball rises, the valve disc opens. With the help of steam pressure, condensate is discharged through the channel. When the condensed water in the shell is discharged to a certain amount and the buoyancy of the floating ball is less than the weight of the floating ball and lever, the floating ball falls and the valve disc is closed.

In order to discharge the non condensable air and a large amount of condensate formed during startup, the bypass exhaust valve can be opened. After normal operation, close again. Because there is no continuous vent, it is only suitable for power station and heating system with better deaeration (boiler with deaerator).

The floating ball type drain valve can work continuously, and because the pressure of medium in the pipeline changes little, there is no collision when it is closed, and there is little steam leakage, so the sealing surface is not easy to be damaged, and the service life is long.

Free semi floating ball drain valve

Free semi floating ball trap is a new structure of trap. The valve is composed of a filter screen, a valve body, a valve cover, a half float ball, a bimetal sheet, a drainage nozzle, a launching pad, etc.

Before operation, the semi floating ball is located on the launching pad, and the cold air and condensate entering the drain valve are discharged from the nozzle. If the air entering the semi floating ball makes the floating ball float, the bimetal plate installed on the valve cover will keep the semi floating ball at a certain distance from the valve nozzle. A small hole is arranged on the top of the semi floating ball, from which the air can be discharged. When the steam enters, the semi floating ball floats and closes the valve nozzle (drain hole). In this case, the bimetallic sheet is in the position of not hindering the semi floating ball to close the valve nozzle after being heated and deformed.

When the condensed water enters, the steam in the semi floating ball condenses, and part of it escapes from the small hole at the top of the semi floating ball. As the buoyancy decreases, it sinks to the launching platform. Open the nozzle, and the condensed water is discharged through the valve nozzle. When the steam enters the drain valve again, the semi floating ball rises again.

The semi floating ball valve can operate continuously and has good sealing performance. The condensate nozzle is sealed by water and will not leak steam. Since the condensate nozzle contacts with the semi floating ball, the semi floating ball is often replaced with a new contact point, so the wear of the semi floating ball is small. The nozzle is made of special material, so it has a long service life. The steam and condensed water are led in by the launching pipe and dispersed to all sides to avoid water hammer. The launching platform maintains the best angle for the action of the semi floating ball. The semi floating ball drain valve can improve the thermal efficiency of the steam equipment and control the steam consumption to the minimum.
